The Concordia Concert Choir of Edmonton
The Concordia Concert Choir, under Dr. Joy Berg, will share special music during the 11h service on Sunday 30 April.
The choir is part of the academic program at Concordia University of Edmonton and is composed of auditioned singers of university age from various disciplines and interests. Dr. Joy Berg is Professor of Music at Concordia University of Edmonton and Director of Choral Activities at Concordia, teaches church music courses, and is cantor for the chapel services at Concordia.
The choir regularly performs on campus for concerts, chapel services, and special events, as well as throughout the Edmonton area. In addition, the Concert Choir has sung at professional music and educational conferences, such as the Alberta Music Conference, the Alberta Teachers’ Association Conference, and church-related conferences and gatherings, including the Lutheran Church–Canada national and regional conventions. The choir also spends a significant amount of time on tour, singing in churches, schools, or community venues. In April 2015, the choir toured Alberta. In addition to Canada-wide appearances, the choir has also performed in the England, Germany, Scandinavia, and the United States. In the spring of 2014, the Choir toured Brazil. We are pleased that they can visit the American Church on their 2017 tour.
