A Future with Hope – Strengthened through Generosity!
Jeremiah reminds of us of God's plans for a future with hope.
“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Your generosity in 2021 enables ACP to provide that hope to hundreds of people each day through our online Worship services, traditional and contemporary music, and the many missions and ministries and outreach activities. Our ministries – our congregation – YOU are making a difference in the lives of individuals. Your generosity is the source of so much good news in this time of uncertainty.
In 2021, as in 2020, ACP is counting on your generosity to allow us to maintain and grow our mission and ministries and to reach a growing community on-line. The ongoing Covid crisis has caused dramatic decreases in our wedding revenues and certain rentals as a result of limits on gatherings. It is for each of us to look at our financial situations, and to prayerfully reflect on how we can provide our church with the resources it needs to be the Beacon on the Seine, and a sustaining force in the lives of its members and the broader community.
One of ACP's goals is for 100 individuals or families in our congregation to take the spiritual step of committing to be generous contributors to God’s work at the ACP by pledging their donation for 2021. This goal is not focused on the amount that each individual or family commits but about the very act of pledging to be purposeful about our role in carrying out the ACP’s mission. Last year, 45 families took this spiritual step despite many others giving – please help us meet our goal of 100 in 2021!
Let's show our collective generosity, pledge now here:
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
The apostle Paul writes "We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us..." meaning that we've all been given grace by our generous God. We encourage you to remember how generous God has been to you and how secure your future is in Christ. We are convinced that we have received blessings so that we can be a blessing for others within our community, in the city of Paris, and around the world.
At ACP, approximately 58% of your donations support our Worship Services, Missions and Ministries, including pastoral costs, music, mission outreach, and community programs like Christian education, Youth & Young Adult, Bloom and many others.
Approximately 28% of your donations support our ACP facilities, including utilities, maintenance, property projects and repairs. While the sanctuary is not open currently, we must continue to be good stewards of this amazing 90-year-old building so that it is preserved for many generations!
The remainder of your donations – approximately 14% pays for our office support staff including our general manager and finance team that manage our rentals with the schools and others.

How can I make a financial pledge?
What is "the tithe" and how much should I give of my financial resources?
The apostle Paul says famously that "God loves a cheerful giver." This word "cheerful" in the Greek is hilaron, which is the root of the English word "hilarious." Giving is not always funny, but should proceed from the deep joy of knowing first God's generous grace and love. The tithe, a ten percent gift of the first fruits, is like training wheels for faithful giving. Faithful stewardship requires planning and practice and can feel like a duty at times, but should always result in joyful, generative blessing to the giver and to those who receive. Part of the blessing of stewardship is learning to let go in order to receive!
What is a steward and how do I become a steward of ACP?
The New Testament Greek word for "steward," oikonomos, is a combination of the word for house (oikos) and law (nomos). In other words, a steward is a house manager, and in the New Testament was used to describe a servant who managed the affairs of a family. In the church we believe that we are all members of the household of God, and each has received gifts from God's infinite love. So we are called to be faithful stewards of the riches of Christ's love, and to bless one another in the church and in the larger community where God has called the church to be a blessing.
