Youth Leaders: Who We Are

Savannah Prince

Savannah Prince

Savannah Prince grew up in the British seaside town of Bournemouth, with a wonderful mum, dad and big brother. Her favourite things are walking along the beach, exploring new places and finding vegetarian recipes to cook!

God has given her a gift to work with children, and youth leading allows her to share the ups and downs of life with truly wonderful leaders and children, supporting each other with words of faith and love. She has always dreamed of living in Paris and this year is her year to "just go!"

Savannah says, "The verse I have found to be incredibly freeing is when Peter asks Jesus how many times he must forgive and Jesus replies 'I tell you not 7 times, but 77 times!' It has allowed me to move forward, to see the good and hope in people, and also see the good in myself."

Matt Brown

Matt Brown

Matt Brown is from Columbus, Ohio (USA), and has lived in  Paris for 5 years. He speaks both English and French, and  loves to snack on cheese!

Matt's favorite Bible verses are Luke 10:27 (“He  answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart  and with all your soul and with all your strength and with  all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”),  and the Parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-37.  His favorite move is Heavyweights (“Attention campers.  Lunch has been cancelled due to lack of hustle. Deal with  it.”), and his favorite book is Mere Christianity, by C.S.  Lewis. Sufjan Stevens, MGMT, Johnny Cash, Hall and  Oates, and the University of Notre Dame Marching Band  are all currently on his iPod!

When asked why he's a youth leader at ACP, he says, "I  believe that our teenage (and preteen) years are an incredibly important phase of our faith lives.  As we start to become independent individuals we can now chose to either grow closer to God or farther from him.  Youth group had a huge impact on my life during middle and high school, creating a foundation of faith that has stayed with me until today.  Now it is my turn to give back and contribute to this important ministry in my church."

Salomon Kabongo-Koopër

Salomon Kabongo Koopër

“1st Samuel 16:7— For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Salomon Kabongo-Koopër has been serving with ACP since May 2016— primarily on the worship team— coming to Paris from Brooklyn, New York (USA), where he worked as a legal counsel, and operational development for various non-profits. He enjoys playing basketball and cheering for many of his favorite sports teams: Arsenal and Saint-Etienne in soccer, the Green Bay Packers, his beloved Syracuse Orangemen, and his treasured Chicago Cubs. Otherwise he relishes aeronautics and airplanes, southern barbecue and bourbon, legal theory discussions, and law books.

After weeks of prayers and contemplation, Salomon felt called to serve the youth of ACP and be used to influence this specific age group of our faith community—like many did before for him. The next generation of servants that will drive the message of our Lord Jesus are discovering themselves presently. Salomon says, "I had the privilege of serving in other Youth Groups in previous years, but I particularly enjoy ACP’s due to the uniqueness of our youth in cultural diversity and background, but more importantly how they comprehend and see the mercy and grace of Jesus, his message of love and unwavering love for all people."

Eric Taquet

Eric TaquetEric Taquet is an apprentice stone scuptor here in Paris. He was raised bilingual in French and English with, he says, "a side of arts and craft!" Eric is 22 years old, and he enjoys nice nature hikes and random hot chocolate mugs in hand. His worldly aspirations are to be the one who finds the Entwives and to make the world a better place.

Noah Genovesi

Noah Genovesi Noah Genovesi is from Austin, Texas  (USA).He's currently studying abroad in Paris  through the University of Texas as an  International Relations major. He spent last  semester at Sciences Po Paris studying  International Security and Middle Eastern  History, and he is currently working until the  end of May 2017 at the Fondation pour la  Recherche Stratégique.

Noah came to ACP after a recommendation  from one of the pastors at his Presbyterian  church back home. In August he visited ACP  for the first time and felt like God was calling  him to stay. He first became quite  involved in  the Young Adults group, until one  day he was  asked to think about helping with  the Youth.  Noah says, "Since the first time I  went to  Youth Group, I knew I wanted to stay:  the  kids were intuitive, interesting, open, but  above all else fun. Can’t wait to see what we’ll  be able to do in the lives of those in collège  and lycée!"

Camille Sowder

Camille Sowder 24 years old and French-American, Camille Sowder grew up in North Carolina and spent her summers in France. She works as an English teacher, translator, and writer. A perfect day for Camille would include a good book, a new place to explore, Tarheel basketball, a dance party, a cat, and peanut butter (preferably Smuckers or the Kroger brand, but she will take what she can find in Paris!). Camille says, "I love working with ACP youth because of their willingness to share joy with others and their dedication to exploring their faith."
