Visiting Pastor

Rev. Dr. Miyoung Paik was born in Seoul, South Korea and emigrated to the United States in 1977 after graduating from high school. She has a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City, a Doctor of Ministry Degree and a Master of Divinity Degree from Drew Theological School in New Jersey. She was ordained as deacon in 1990 and as elder in 1992 in the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She has studied spiritual direction from Haden Institute, Charlotte, NC. She loves to weave her art, music, labyrinth, and creativity in her ministry and loves to lead retreats. Rev. Paik has served on the Design Teams of the UM Clergywomen’s Consultation in 2002 and 2006 and as the visual artist for the SC Annual Conference Worship Center in 2005-2014. She retired in June 2022 after 32 years of ministry. She loves to sit in her backyard, sings with the Lexington County Choral Society and wishes to paint more.
